The hotel room is nice, neat and clean. Price is affordable, parking isn't too bad, but the only problem with the hotel, is the elevator system. Really show and have to wait a long time, especially with 10 other people or more waiting to go up. Going down isn't too bad.
I selected this hotel for my stay in Sydney because it was described as a hip and modern 5⭐️ hotel. I've stayed at many 5⭐️ hotels around the world, and I would say this should be a 3 ⭐️ at best. It does not feel luxurious.
The room itself is cold and dated: inexpensive tiled floor with a crooked rug--no plush carpeting in sight; the seating (sofa and dining chairs) were cheap and uncomfortable; and the bedsheets felt papery rather than posh. Insulation is poor--you can hear everything outside the door, especially other doors slamming.
I stayed in a corner suite with a huge outdoor terrace which was probably twice the size of the room itself, but it was sparsely furnished with just an outdoor bistro table and chairs that hadn't been dusted and crammed into a corner. The rest of the space felt like an alleyway.
The bathroom was outdated, and you could hear the water draining beneath the tile floor.
One thing I liked was that there was a washer & dryer, so I was able to pack clean clothes--I just had to buy detergent.
Location is good. It's within walking distance of shopping, attractions, restaurants and bars.
If I visit Sydney again, I'd choose a different hotel.
The hotel is fantastic. The suite is spacious and impeccably clean. I’m really impressed with the water pressure in the shower. The staff members are incredibly friendly. The hotel boasts an excellent fitness center and pool area. Moreover, its location is ideal for walking to malls, parks, restaurants, and train and bus stations. The city itself is wonderful and safe, allowing you to step out of the hotel with comfort. My only suggestion for the hotel would be to consider adding more elevators. With only two working lifts for a 51-floor building, the wait times can be a bit slow. There were instances when we had to wait in line to access the elevators.
My rating is based upon my experience. My experience entering into the property wasn't the best. Even by them attempting to rectify the problem, it still wasn't correct. I had to request for them to re service my room because it wasn't properly cleaned. I traveled over 8 thousand miles to stay at this specific hotel in another country and to get here and be disappointed. I had to go to the nearby store and purchase cleaning products so I could properly clean the room. My length of stay was for a week, so I had to make sure I was comfortable.
Had very bad experience last night staying at the hotel. We arrived early, reception called us back at around 1pm and let us know the room is ready. But the room isn’t “ready” at all. Bin was not empty in the room, 3 pillows were so stinky - housekeeping came to swap over at night time. 1 of them was still stinks after being swapped. There were few hairs on the bed… Mosquitoes flying all over in the bathroom.. I have never had to keep killing mosquitoes while I’m having shower in a hotel… kid got stung and been upsetting all night and even today… called reception, sent housekeeping in again sprayed a very decent amounts all over the bathroom….. I had to stop the kids getting in because I don’t know if the sprays were toxic..the cleanliness of the hotel is ridiculous…. Considered paying $3xx for a night, I don’t expect to be very fancy, but the cleanliness is absolutely unacceptable..
Lift was very disappointing … there was 3 however 1 was down.. you better be prepared for the waiting times.. took us a good 15 minutes for going to the lobby/back to the room.
As a frequent guest of Meriton Suites, this is the worst experience I’ve ever had..
The location is fantastic, but services as basic as the lifts don't work, fresh water bottles are not in the room and no toiletries. It took us 40 mins to just check in. Extremely disappointing. Worst Meriton experience so far.
Have stayed in this hotel multiple times. The rooms were spacious and clean. Service is great. Had no problem checking in after hours and the parking is one of the cheapest in Sydney CBD. …
Stayed here on the weekend, seriously the WORST hotel we have stayed at. Other Meriton’s are great but this one is dreadful. Save your money.
For nearly $400/night you would at least expect your room to be ready at 3pm …
